Congrats! You’ve arrived at the 3rd step in the change process. You’ve done the work. You know that moving forward with your decision is the right thing for you, even though there are no guarantees.

But now, when imagining what could lie ahead, your thoughts become your worst enemy. You feel tense, uncomfortable, and even fearful. There is a wall of emotions—a wall of anxiety—between you and what you want. You need to find a way to the other side.

To achieve that, I invite you to grab a pen and paper or a whiteboard and join me for a fantastic exercise that will help you put your fears and risks in a tangible form. From there, you can develop action plans for different scenarios that could result from the change.

I love this exercise. It’s a great way to right-size your stress, find clarity on what’s holding you back, and gain the control you need to move forward. Be sure to tune in next time for the final part of this series.

Journaling can be a game-changing tool. Just grab a pen and put your thoughts on paper. You might be amazed by how much it helps. But, if you still struggle with sorting out your thoughts and feelings, consider getting a copy of the Treasured Journal. The Treasured Journal includes questions, prompts, and sentence stems that will help you make sense of what you’re feeling. Get the journal and its companion meditation guide at this link:
